The changes

I have had several people tell me that based on all the new changes that I should write a blog. They tell me that it is to keep my sanity but I truly believe that it is just to entertain them with the crazy that is me:)
Quick catchup...Jeff's cancer returned, this is bad..he received a stem cell rescue with high dose chemo, it almost killed him but was good.....he was out of work and we have already depleted our savings with the first set of medical bills:( So next choice we moved in with the in-laws. I have a great new job at the Pentagon, Jeff is working part-time from here when he can. Andrew starts a new school Tuesday and Jack is in Kindercare. Jeff has been here since April, the kids all summer and I just moved in 3 weeks ago!
So far it is OK, the in-laws are nice but it is still a new home.

Let's do a little comparison. I have had three roommates all great. Roommate A was one of my closest friends and a lot of fun but the living situation ending tense and we lost touch for quite a while. Roommate B was my best friend for years. But she was more calm and mature than I, I was pretty sure I would annoy the crap out of her. I don't think I drove her crazy. We had a great roommate situation and I was lucky and blessed to have lived with her. Next is roommate C, we were college friends and not that close. She spent most of her time in her bedroom. But she lived with Jeff and I. I believe she kept Jeff and I from fighting as much as we could be cause we had a third party living with us. She was low maitainence and stayed out of our way.
The question is what kind of roommate do you think I will be for my inlaws?
All I can say is that my father-in-law and mother-in-law appear to drink more, not sure if there is a correaltion to me moving in!
Stories to follow......

Haf way there!

Today Jack headed to VA with my husband and my in-laws. The house is pretty much a ghost town but oddly very comfortable probably because there is less to clean. I am looking forward to spending time with just Andrew. I miss Jack and am hoping it is not too much of a pain for my in-laws. Jeff is doing well and is handling this next waiting preiod well.
Andrew is starting 1st grade next year. His teacher said he was bright and funny and both of those comments just delighted me!
Well not much time to write...Andrew wants to go play!

Next Chapter

A year ago I started to try and blog. I thought with how much I run my mouth it would be fairly easy for me to sit down a few times a week or at least a month and spit some thoughts out. Inevitably life got away from me and now in the midst of a new chapter, that is more crazy than before, I decided I would try again.
I have said before I am blessed and I feel as if I truly appreciate what I have. I also know I work for it and have earned all that I have. Now Jeff's cancer has returned. he has gone through intensive stem cell rescue and additional chemo and 5 weeks after treatment it appears the tumor is growing back again.
So where do I stand do I wallow in the new norm or do I move forward and fight it with everything I have. The answer is easy and simple, we will fight this we will move forward. But in the background when a sad movie is on or certain song I will let myself feel lost. I just need to feel lost long enough to make myself strong for the fight again. Of course as I write this all it is not my fight, it is his fight and he is stronger and braver this time then ever before. So I am still blessed to have him in my life - 10 years of Jeff is better than 50 of any other man!

I have said it many times but I am infinitely blessed...the obvious healthy children and a cured husband, a great job and wonderful friends. But the other little things...my husband supports my career, he loves our children, my children are inquisitive and funny, my older sister and Missy call me all the time, even when I forget to make time for them. Saturdays I sit in with the boys, snuggle and enjoy them. Life is nice...happy and nice!!!!
Tomorrow is the 5K run for the Race for Hope - Brain Cancer Run!!!!
I am lcuky to have friends to raise money and take their Sunday morning to goto DC with us!!!

New found love

I decided at the beginning of this year that I would start running. First I want to run a 5K....just a fun accomplishment but second a cheap way to lose weight! I started out ok and not super happy with my performance but the change came and quickly. Now 6 weeks, a mp3 player and fancy running shoes later I am loving it. I can run for a mile without stopping. I can run 3 miles without feeling like I hit a brick wall. I can think while I run and not focus on whether I can breathe. I may not have perfect form, lift my knees enough or run enough but when I do I love it! I have lost 7 lbs which is nice but what really is great is I can run around with my kids like crazy! That is important. I also don't feel like I am naturally a lazy person!!! The kids get to see me healthy and my husband realizes I am not a couch potato!
LOVE IT...off to buy some underarmour shirts !!! woohoo

Weddings and the end of 2008

So I ended 2008 with the last of the four weddings I was involved with this year. This year was fantastic....busy and too fast but fantastic. Just how I thought all my years with my family would be. 3 years ago I thought things would never get back to normal but now (and only now) after I look back over the year I see that it was just normal. Every wedding was important and individually would have made for a great year but we had; Jeff's cousin Casey, whom I adore, Jeff's brother James and my new sister-in-law Lauren, whose love is peaceful and constant, my best friend Lisa and Jeff's best friend Tom, who have been a godsend to us over the years and lastly my baby sister Crystal ad her marine husband Tim, who are wonderful people with a bright future. So I wish them all the love in the world, I pray that there worst day is something they can be with each other to support and that there best days are still ahead. I think this everyday....I hated three years ago but I am so fortunate to know each and every day how important my husband, children, family and friends are to me. I am very very blessed and very helpful and happy for what I have. This is going to be a good year!!!

finally

So I wanted to start this blog before, many times, and I have procrastinated. First because of my lack of time, than because I thought I had nothing to say and lastly because I decided I was a terrible writer. But I have decided that I really need a place to get my thoughts down. Not a place to update anyone on my life or give the world any fantastic insight, just a moment in time for me to record my thoughts somewhere. I am sure I will reread some items and say was that me? what was I thinking? or why would I write that? In all honesty we do that with our friends and spouses so what is the difference. The written word is forever but the spoken word can always be remembered however we want to interpret it. So that is it...woohoo I finally started. Nothing big but I started my new year and I started my blog...I feel like a success!!!!
Happy New year to all!!!
